As some of you may know from my previous posts...i put some 5w30 royal purple motor oil into the car...and WOW...

So WOW in fact...that i just got my royal purple tranny fluid and max gear oil in the mail from American Muscle.com...

I'm going to be flushing everything out this coming week...its going to be at a friends shop...so all tools with be available...

My question is, hell, while I'm at it...anyone try that "purple ice" out...I'm about to order that too...I'm already REALLY impressed with the motor oil...can't wait until the end of this week!!!

I run purple ice and water in my rad. Tracks don't like coolant so i run water and purple ice. It works great. i also have used water wetter. It is also a good brand that keeps my car cool.

Is it safe for me to run on a street car that is driven frequently...with a coolant/water mixture???

How much should i put in? Do i just siphon some of the existing coolant out to make room for this stuff?

thanx

I also thought about running some of the Ice/Water Wetter since the temps get pretty damn hot here to say the least.

As for getting it out, you could siphon it out or just open up the valve on the bottom and let some out rlaugh: EPA wouldn't suggest that though)

no reason to

that stuff is designed for track cars with small, lightweight radiators that run all water. it mixes well with the water and helps with cooling and lubrication/rust prevention

your car has coolant to do that job and it does it well, so there's really no reason to run it in your daily driven car. but hey it's your car, go for it

I run a 15/85 coolant mix with water wetter and an electric water pump.......have been for the past 60,000 miles....also use a 180 deg thermostat....... never had any issues and the car runs about 190 max is the summer heat! It will be fine for a daily driver but you will need to get your radiator flushed once a year........other than that....you will love it!
