When I put the driveshaft in, the AOD yoke slips all the way in, but there is about an inch and a half of distance to the rearend u-joints. The wheels are on the ground and weighted with that measurement. Is that too much? I would not think that it would be so much of a gap. Any knowledge here would be helpful. Thanks

The transmission slip yoke should be about halfway in the transmission housing with the car sitting on all four tires. I believe the slip yoke is about 4 inches long so you want about two inches or slightly less sticking out with the car sitting level an all for tires.
