OK! I think I looked at all the pics. The Black Sand Beach is pretty crazy! And damn some people get stupidly close to those Volcanos. Alot of those pics make really nice wallpaper.

That is a nice tropical paradise you live in, San Man! I'm going to see if I can make that an upcoming vacation spot. Any specific locations you can recommend?

Thanks!

Depends on what you want to see and do.

If you want to relax and get away, Lanai and Kauai are the least populated.

Maui is getting bad and has a lot of traffic. Molokini island has great snorkeling. You can drive to Haleakala to see the sunrise along with the other 1000 or so people doing it lol The drive to Hana (a town on the far side of the island) is also popular, but long and only one lane too. Along the way are beautiful beaches and lots of natural swimming pools and waterfalls.

Big Island (island of Hawaii) has the volcanos, of course. Black sand beaches here too. Lots of historic sites (missionary houses, King Kamehameha historic sites, etc).

Oahu has a lot to do but of course will have the most people doing the same thing as you. Pearl Harbor, Arizona memorial, USS Missouri are popular destinations. Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay is usually a must do. Winter time the North shore has huge waves, but miles and miles of traffic (bumper to bumper with only one lane, beware). Lots of shopping, luau's, hula shows, famous Waikiki beach just to name a few.

Come in the off season and the hotel rates won't cost you and arm and a leg.

Damn, I sound like a tour guide haha

No, there are actually quite a few, and a lot of modded ones.

I am not the only one.

Thanks for all the Info San! Should make for an interesting getaway, especially since these cold (-22 F) Canadian winters are brutal!

And I thought gas prices would be higher. Gas prices here are $3.21 US for a gallon of premium. I guess I'm the one getting ripped off .

Poi is made from the Taro root which is boiled and then mashed up into a "paste." Sorta looks like purple paste. Ancient Hawaiians grew taro and it was one of their main staples.
