Got To Get A New Trans

Well I have to get a new transmission. I got my new motor in and I broke my transmission. It was a C6 out of a 78 pickup, I found an AOD but it's out of an 88 Lincoln Town Car .. Will it work in my mustang or will the trans be a little too long? All the stuff on my mustang is carb and stuff like that. Will I have to get an older trans or will a newer one like that work?

as long as it isn't an AODE you will be fine.

I beleive the Lincoln AOD's are about 1" longer
