got trans back

hey thanks guy what ever the out come may be i know it will be beter than stock i started tearing down today but what the hell happen to that noise in my bell housing that started this thread should i get a filter and replace the tranny oil if theres any ufo's in the tranny

whats with all the ricer stuff any way who do they think builds the engines for na eclipses it isnt mits..personaly i dont care a cars a car and they all have there ups and downs...and let me tell you how much cheaper and easyer it was to bring my eclipse close to 400 hp

I will kiss your a$$ if you can prove to me it is easier and cheaper to get 400 hp out of a 2.0 mitsubishi motor than a 302 ford. I've owned both and now I have heard the most rediculous statement you've made yet. My friend has 4000 into a awd talon, and got smoked by a 5.0 bone stock with a t60 turbo running 8bls of boost with stock injectors and all. And all that turbo setup cost was 1600 dollars. Now add a intake and some heads, bump up the boost and what do you think that 5.0 would do to the talon?? NO CONTEST. No substitute for cubic inches....PERIOD.

never said a turbo stang wouldnt go faster than a 4g63 engine...do some reaseach though and pm me when you wanna start kissing im a big dsm fan here a start by a 20g turbo 1400 dollars and a boost controller 30 bucks intercooler 300 255 fuel pump 160 hks 272 cams 700 im close to 350 hp runnig lest say 22psi or more and only spent how much your freind lied to you ebay could be your best freind look

C'mon girls, let's not turn this into another childish my-dad-can-beat-up-your-dad thread. I've seen quick, inexpensively modded cars from many countries of origin and manufacturers. And I've seen slow megabuck mods from all over as well. It's just not a one size fits all.

If you find ufo's that concern you in a new/newly rebuilt tranny upon fluid change - I'd take a sample/filter back to the place that did the work. Even if you don't trust them, they should have some liability for resolving any problems with the tranny - if it turns out there are problems.

Js5oh - there are plenty of substitutes for displacement; but there's no substitute for cubic dollars.

I agree with everything you say Mr. Yount, there are substitutes for cubic inches yes, but if you use the same substitute with more cubic inches, it proves the theory. Both theory's cubic inches and dollars. I guess my point is, if your into small cubes, you will have to spend way more to produce the same power as a large cubed engine. And to add to it, how long will the drivline hold up on a 4 cyl car if you get 350 to the wheels, seeing that you doubled the stock output of the engine. My buddy's lasted for 3 passes before he grenaded the diff. But the Mustang is still getting whooped on day in and day out with stock driveline.

thas no where near double new 4g63 motor in the lancer 286 hp.1 gen 210.

but i agree with you wut you can do to one engine you can do to the other just with more cylinders

aod ,t5 tranys are crap also though with no mods to your engine they break down

Like I said J's - if you have enough $$, all that stuff about broken parts don't matter. You buy new, more expensive ones that will hold up. It's always available with more money. But - most of it's subjective anyway. Some folks like big displacement/power/torque. Great. Some like small/lightweight/high tech. That's great too as far as I'm concerned. Some like boost. Some like revs. Some like nitrous. Some don't. Some like to see how fast they can go for cheap. Some don't care what it costs. None of it's right or wrong, better or worse. They're all just different. So, we all take our pick -- and hopefully appreciate when someone else chooses differently.
