alright...im a 5.0 guy but i gotta buddy that needs some help. he got in an accident about 4 months ago. well he got dicked over by the body shop guys....blah blah blah. led to a knew engine about 900 miles ago. he did a good job breaking it in (nothing hardcore but a few "break-ins" here and there like it needs).

k....down the to problem. i havent seen it happen to often but it scares me every so often cause it happens to a new engine (less than about 3k miles). the code that is thrown is "cylinder #2 misfire". now i know for a fact that aint good. we hit about 100mph tonight and after he hit it the CE light went off and it was idling a lil rough (almost as good as my 5.0 ) anyways....it just doesnt seem good that his 4.6 DOHC is idling like that after a CE light that is thrown like that.......can you gimme some ideas to check out so we dont blow up his engine cause i dont even want him driving his car with a CE light like that. its a completely.....and i mean completely stock car besides the "new" engine about 3k miles ago that i made sure he did a good job of breaking in. thanx

Did he check the plugs yet? Maybe a coil went bad?

That is the first place I would start. Double check the plug gap and then the connection with the COP. It could be loose and the vibration from driving may kick on the CE.
