My fuel level sending unit went bad. The Ford dealer wants $77.00 plus tax for a new one.
I always feel that I'm taking it up the rear when I buy parts from them. A couple years ago I had the gas tank out to repair a leak and I broke one of the retaining clips/nuts. New nuts come in packs of four only and cost $18.32. I decided to get a new bolt also but those only come in packs of two for $8.52. Total with tax was $28.45. Seven weeks after I ordered them they still were not in.
I canceled the order and made my own clips/nuts which is something i don't think I can do with the fuel level sending unit. Anyone else feel they got gouged by the dealership?
