Granada - Outer Tie Rod Connection

I'm sure this must have been asked before so I apologize for any redundancy.

I have Granada spindles to install on my 65 2+2. The spindles are complete with the Granada outer tie rod ends and my question is:

Do the Granada OUTER tie rod ends thread into the standard connector sleeve that connects them to the Mustang INNER tie rod ends or is a special sleeve required? I haven't taken things apart yet and just want to plan ahead to reduce the surprises.

This might be a dumb question but here goes anyway. Why would you need to shorten the sleeve? Wouldn't you need to shorten the length of each of the inner and outer tie rod ends to allow more toe-in? Instead of shortening the sleeve why not just thread the rods farther in? I know I'm missing something here so go easy on me.......

Just buy the adaptors for $10 and be done with it.

The tie rod ends bottom out in the hole

and the threads runout of adjustment, and they bottom out where you cant "shorten" them any more. They also touch each other in the middle of the sleeve when you cut Only the sleeve.

To make this easy understand the entire tie rod assembly has to be shorter from end to end, otherwise you cant "toe in" the front of the tire without bottoming out. If you`ll put both tie rod ends into the sleeve and hold it in front of you, and look at how they not only bottom out in the hole, but end to end (in the center of the sleeve) as well, this will make sense.

"It is common on 65-66 cars to have to modify the length of the tie rod adjusting threads and the tie rod adjusting sleeves iin order to achieve enough toe-in.
To accomplish this, cut off 1/8" to 1/4" from the adjusting threads of ALL FOUR tie rods and cut off 1/8" from both ends of both adjusting sleeves. This will keep the tie rods from butting together before proper toe-in is achieved. The Granada spindles have different Ackerman geometry than the 65-66 cars."

I think that now is a good time to swap your outer tierod ends out with a Baer Tracker bumpsteer corrector kit - http://www.streetortrack.com/Baer-Tracker-Bump-Steer-Kit-c-465.html

The granada spindles often accentuate bumpsteer through the suspension travel. Plus the hemi joint helps to smooth out the steering and reduce some of the effort on manual steer cars.

Yes, my Baer Tracker sleeves were shortened.

I feel like it would be better used on a part I could afford to replace twice if I screwed it up.

It's not that complicated a deal, bro.

You can get a hacksaw and cut down a couple of $15 ball joints.

OR......you can just buy the MS adaptor sleves and use your existing ones.

EITHER WAY, I have decided.......to LOL in your general direction.
