I recently put Granada discs on the front of my '66 coupe. I used the Granada proportioning valve. After the install, I had excessive brake pedal travel. After repeated bleedings and proper adjusting of the rear drum brakes, I began to look at the proportioning valve, thinking there may be something in the valve that is out of adjustment.
I took the valve apart and cleaned it out. In doing so, I think I pushed the rod (thing that looks like a slotted screw inside the front disc end of the valve) in the center of the valve down, and I could not get it to pop back up. It sounded like it clicked down when I touched it. I thought it would return to it's proper position when brake pressure was applied. Now I have no rear brakes. I tried to vacuum bleed the rear, but I couldn't get any fluid or air. It's like the valve is only allowing fluid to the front brakes.
I'm not really sure how a proportioning valve works, but is this possible? Can I fix this without completely removing the valve? (AGAIN)
