has anyone used the granatelli throttle body for the 05+ gt's? my stock throttle motor took a dive and my buddy who works at a ford dealer says that you cant get just a motor, have to replace the throttle body. granatelli is the only aftermarket tb that comes with the motor. has anyone heard good or bad things about it? its only 70 dollars more than a stock one so i figured i'd kill two birds with one stone and upgrade the throttle body and fix my car at the same time.

300. but i just found the stock ford gt500 tb and adapter to bolt it up to a gt intake on blow by racings site for 340 so im goin that route. that way im replacing it with an oem ford part and wont have to worry bout an aftermarket throttle motor assin up like ive recently noticed about the granatelli ones

A lot of people in the mustang community don't like anything made by Granatelli, especially T/Bs.

I just installed the MSVT TB on my '05 GT a couple of days ago. It's the twin bore 60 mm Tb that came on GT 500's I think. There was a little bit of "adjustment" to make it fit but I got mine from CJPony Parts for $129.00 shipped.

EDIT: LINK >>>---> http://www.cjponyparts.com/product.asp?pn=TB100

You can see the difference in size, not only the bores, but the mouth is larger requiring some creativitity to couple it to the CAI... I am still shopping for a decent coupling.

EDIT:

The coupling for my CAI easily fits "INSIDE" of the new TB, instead of OVER it. (EDIT) So I had to make an adapter to make it fit the K&N intake tube. I installed a JLT yesterday and the coupling stretches enough to make a good fit.

I agree, the FRPP is nice and shiney but that's almost $400 difference in price for an additional 2 mm and "bling."

Casey4s, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass but wouldn't your coupling method create the same air restriction that you are trying to eliminate with the bigger TB? Could you use a GT500 CAI instead? There also seems to be a gap in the top right of your coupling that will cause unmetered air to enter the TB. Remember, there will be negative pressure there, so there will be nothing to prevent the coupling from collapsing.

That photo was just to show that the CAI coupling was way too small for the GT 500 TB.

What I did was this...

No leaks but not as neat as I'd have liked though.

That looks much better. Any noticeable performance difference with the new TB?

Very nice piece for sure. But if you don't absolutly need 62mm as opposed to 60mm $559 seems like a lot to me when with a little adjustment, the SVT TB is only $129 shipped, personally I can live without the billet look.

but that's just my opinion...
