Grantilli 90mm MAF

Anyone N/A running one? I know a tune would be needed, but even N/A with stock TB a larger MAF would increase volume as well as velocity??? Is this correct, or am I still thinking 5.0? LOL

Chad, although I personally don't own one ? I can tell you from extensive research that I did on another forum concerning the Granatelli cold air intake.. the MAF housing of 90mm ? is not accurate.. the actual diameter is no larger than 83mm and is very similar in design with the C&L street intake in which a very reputable SCT tuner performed an independent 3rd party examination that confirmed those 90mm claims as inaccurate as well..Also if your not aware of this ? if you plan on using a tuning device ? you'll have to use your stock MAF sensor because his supplied MAF electronics will not work with a hand held programmer due to calibration differences between the factory MAF senor and his...Anyway hope this answers some of your questions and good luck to you..

Now the one in which you're referring to ? is what he calls a slot in mass air sensor so I don't know for certain what size the MAF meter is but I can tell you that he also has a complete cold air intake that looks almost identical to the C&L street intake which includes a jumper harness and a recalibrated MAF sensor that looks exactly like the slot in mass air pic you posted that installs directly in his intake tube which he also claimed was 90mm ? However that claim was proven as inaccurate and is actually 83mm so again, I can't say for certain if this slot in mass air meter you're referring to is 90mm or not It does appear to look as though he took the same recalibrated MAF sensor that's included with his cold air intake and somehow was able to fabricate it to fit inside of a 90mm MAF Lightning meter, so perhaps it may be possible and even if it is ? chances are that if you plan on using a hand held programmer ? you might as well forget about it because the tuning files are calibrated for the factory MAF electronics..Therefore his MAF sensor is completely useless, unless you have no intentions of planning any future modifications that require the use of a programmer....

The way the GMS product page reads, it is included with a CAI kit of some sort.

Since your going to tune it anyway why not look at something like a Steeda (same as FRPP). It's a 90mm intake also and is supported by most flashers/tuners.

Would seem to me that a 90mm hole is a 90mm hole as long as it's tuned correctly so performance would be the near the same on all 90mm kits.

Perhaps you should take another look at my post again..I also clearly stated that even if the pic you posted of his MAF slot in meter is 90mm ? you still will not be able to use a hand held tuning device with it because of the fact the tuning files you download into your vehicle's PCM are calibrated for the factory MAF meter/electronics only, in which his MAF clearly is not otherwise if his MAF was truly calibrated to work with the stock electronics ? the included jumper harness in which you must also install, would not be required to begin with..Therefore I clearly addressed your question, now what you decide to do with the info I provided ? is completely you're choice...
