BTW i think that is the first hydrant that i have ever seen actually get hit... Not quite what they depict in the movies... It came off real easy too.

well it depends on what part of the country you live in. the ones you see in movies are the types that are in the south where the weather never freezes. there is always water in there all the way to top valve. the ones up here are called dry hydrants and dont have water til like 10' down (below the freeze line) and fill up when opened and have a drain valve at the bottom so no water stays in there......tid bit of info the the day. i knew i took the fire fighting class for a reason


yeah, i think that hydrant was going right at the one car. i bet you that it nailed it.
