Well I have Autometer Phantom white face gaues and I wanted them to light up green at night. So I tried with the bulb covers and didn't like it. Then heard from someone that you could just buy a 194 bulb in green. So I went looking for one and found every other color but green. So I figured why not use a led? I took out the stock Autometer bulb and wires and used the bulb housing for the LED. Heres how it turned out. The picture actually made it look a little darker but thats the best I could do with my camera.
Let me know what you think?

does your camera have a night exposure mode? It almost looks too dark from the picture, but the color looks good.

Thats a good question. I am still learning how to use the thing. It is actually brighter than the picture and you can read the gauge with ease. You can see the little red light reflect on the glass when the picture was taken from the camera. I need to see if it has that night exposure mode.

I have a sorta bad pic at night. It actually matches the stock gauges PERFECTLY with the green 194.

Where did you get the 194's in green? I looked at all the local auto stores and found every color but green!

I don't know if they are the same down in the states but I found that truck stops have alot of the coloured bulbs and other things like buffing wheels for cheaper than you can get at a performance store, just a thought

If you able to change the aperture, then put it as low as it will go (opening it all the way to let in more light) and if you can change the shutter speed, set it relitively low, around 1/50th should be a good place to start, if the picture is too dark the lower the shutter speed, if it's too bright raise it.

Hope that helps

I found green 194 bulbs at "Van and Truck World" which is a performance truck shop. Anyone that deals with APC can order them for you.
