grinding noise in idle?Like the title says, i adjusted my idle the other day to be at about 700 so i can here the cam that low and its surging alittle so im gona put it at like 900, but when it dies down to 600 and shoots itself back up, i hear like the very light grinding/sratching noise from the engine or exhaust maybe, sounds really bad, its not loud though, at first at a light i thought it wasent my car but i kept hearing it so it is my car but idk what it is, and sometime when i lauch out of first i hear it, anyone have any ideas? should i not drive my car hard? I cant not drive it at all though, i NEED my car

lol the throwout bearing is the bearing that lets the clutch fork put pressure on the pressure plate (to disengage the clutch) but still lets the engine and flywheel spin (so it doesn't stall)

i think i might have the same thing as you, when im taking off sometimes i'll hear it, and sometimes when im under 1k rpm in 2nd or 3rd gear and accelerating ill hear it. never when im just idling though. my tranny's brand new, as are my clutch bearings and disc was in good shape.

my point? ...sorry i couldn't help you but nobody's gonna be able to unless we get a little more info or you really diagnose where it's coming from

yea sounds kinda like the same thing as mine, when i accelerate at a lower rpm like under 1k, i hear this horrible scratching or grinding type noise, ive never heard it at idle until i put it under 1k though

my clutch is brand new king cobra, and the fly wheel was resurfaced, should i just not make anything of it? or take it in for someone to see it? thanks guys

im gonna be getting a camera in the next few days so maybe it can catch the sound on video
