Ground cable help!

Car died today, no power or anything. Found out the grounding cable to negative battery was loose. Am trying to find a spot to hook cable up to. So far nothing has worked. Used a bolt/nut got at home depot, attached to bracket under battery. HELP!!!!!

It grounds to the engine block right next to the oil pressure sender.

I got under the car & saw that finally. Do you know what size bolt that is?

I want to say 7/16...but not sure.

As you found out, the engine to block ground is critical. Here are some more things to check while you are looking at grounds.

A screwdriver points to the bolt that is the common ground point.

The battery common ground is a 10 gauge pigtail with the computer ground attached to it.

Wow, thanks for the tutorial lesson.

Had to order a 7/16 bolt, Ford discontinued it.
