Ground effects

Hey all, got a question that i wonder if someone could answer for me. I just
got some ground effects from a 89 stang, and i want to try and sand and primer
it myself. Not sure what grit sand papers i should use. I want to eventually primer the whole car, but figure id start with something small first. Trying to
save alittle money for when i take it to get painted. Anything that will reduce them freakin labor charges is always good . Thanks.

usually when you buy ground effects...they usually come almost ready to paint. take some 320 grit sandpaper and sand the whole thing down......then move up to 400 grit.....after that 600....then wetsand it with 800.then throw on some primer. after each coat of primer..usually i do 3 even good coats. then wetsand with 800 after the second and third. hope this helps...these are very close to the steps that i took to get my interior pecies ready for paint. alot of people will say "why do all that sanding for primer?" preperation is the most important process in painting.let me know how it turns out. good luck
