well this happened when i bent/cracked a valve and it was tapping my piston last winter. it was on the 4 cylinder before and now it sounds like its near the 7 or 8. i dont rev my engine too high and i do the daily mess around with my car but i dont completely beat on her. any one got any ideas of what it might be and disprove what i think it is?? is there something that woudl keep making me do something like this. i plan on pulling the heads this weekend so i dont do any damage to the engine. i hope its just a rocker or something.....im really starting to think about getting rid of this car

Pop the covers off and look around for anything. Grab ahold of the rockers and make sure none are loose or have slack. This may be a good excuse to buy some nice heads.

How many miles do you have on the engine/heads? Mine used to tap like what your saying but not my valves. I just replaced all my lifters rods arms etc. Broke it in for bought 1000 miles and It ran perfect. Untill I threw a rod bearing
