Does anyone out there have the dimensions for the GT 350R roll bar? I'm having a local race shop build one for me and I'd like to get the dimensions close to original specs. I have lots of pics but would really like the measurement across the bottom, height to top center, height from base of roll bar to where the rearward bars meet etc. Also, a pic of the where the bar attaches under the side panels would be nice :D
Thanks in advance,
Dave

IIRC they just cut a hole in the side panels and put a vinyl donut around the hole.

The bar was beefy, but there's no way I can help you get the exact dimensions. Have you asked any SAAC members?

I have a modern rollbar in mine and it is thin by comparison to the old R-model. I am very interested in mimicking the seatbet attachments though. I prefer the mounts like the ones they had in 67 Shelbys, and the 68 hardtops.

Let us/me know what you find out.

I was actually looking for a pic where the bar attaches to the floor :)

They actually had the harness too high for optimum safety. The harness should reach back and attach behind the driver at, slightly below or slightly above shoulder height. So I've been informed anyway by those far more in the know than me :D

Thanks, I think I might just do that :)

Yeah, I've heard the same thing about the high mounting location. I'm going to have to agree with what they say but...you knew that was coming...a high mounted y-harness is still a lot safer than just a lap belt :D
