Got my combo in sig. dynoed today...1st pull/226.71 max power@4800 rpm, 256.23 max torque@4300 rpm...4th pull/254.62 max power@4800 rpm, 291.86 max torque@4000 rpm. Seems pretty low to me, I was hoping for at least 265...More like 275 or 280 though... Any thoughts on the low numbers?? thanks guys.:notnice:

ok, those are rated at like 330hp.... or something like that. take away drivetrain loss and your a tad under where you should be. I would have went with 24# injectors though, as stated above. who did the tuning? where they good? I bet that you could pull another 10-15rwhp out of it with a better tune.
I didnt see any ignition adders....do you have any?
just tell me that you not using platinum plugs....

It was on a dynojet at dpr tuned by shawn (use to be the tuner at jba) I guess hes pretty good from what ive heard around san diego. AS far as the ignition its stock, what would you suggest and how much more hp would that be good for?? Im using the spark plugs that came with it from ford and I went with 30 lbs because thatst what the ford racing tech line guys suggested and they got 340hp out of it with no accessaries and carb...

maybe i understood this last statement wrong... injectors and a carb?

ford recomended to use the 30s on his setup, and the test dyno was done with a carb.

note: when engine testing, using a carb will produce higher HP ratings.

using an MSD 6al will allow you to open up the plugs and you might see 5-10hp out of it.

Oh ok i see...

I still think 30s is way overkill and might be the culprit.

yea i had been told that also but i went with the ford racing guys.. i wonder if it is the 30lbs

to be honest, 19s would even work good. 24s would have been the better choice though.
I would get a MSD 6al and an MSD Blaster TFI ignition module and see if that will improve you any.

19's are good to 300HP. I'd also start there... Did the dyno record A/F ratio to indicate a rich condition?
I dont really know how to read that part but at 2000 rpm it hit a max of 14.07 and the lowest was at 5700rpm where it was at 11.93 on the graph it hits 13 at about 4000...what condition does that indicate?

I would agree with the others, i would guess that in order for your computer to keep the a/f ratio in the stoichiometric(sp.?) range it has those 30lbers with such a short injector pulse that the fuel is not atomizing efficiently.

It usually indicates that the injector breakpoints and fuel ramps are incorrect. Time to get it dyno tuned for the 30s.

I've seen that engine crank out over 300 to the wheels, but there has been issues with spring seat pressure on the gt40x heads from ford.

get some 24's and do it again.

Thats what i was thinking too but when i asked dpr about it they said on some cars it helps but on others it doesn't...that would suck to dish out $500(chip and tuning) and not see much improvement..thanks for the replyy and evryone else too
