Actually you can trick it. I made an EGR delete kit. Capped the header (5/8 flare nut at Lowes), capped the elbow (cut a peice of aluminum) and h-pipe. Hacked off the piping on the smog ports going into the back of the heads. Used JB weld to block the piping holes and bolted them back onto the heads. Lastly I removed the base of the EGR itself and plugged the hole on the shaft. Plugged the EGR back in the harness and tucked it away. It's been this way for 5 years and I've never had a "check engine" light or anything smog related ever.

In the Fox mustang the EGR is internal, the EGR gases come from the inside fo the heads, through the center of the intake, and out of the EGR spacer into the intake charge instead of an external EGR setup from the header to the upper intake like SN95s have. It's not problem buying a GT40 intake without the internal EGR (an explorer intake, but not sure which years) unless you want to do the Fox TB conversion later down the road, then you'll have to use an internal EGR intake or delete the EGR function inside of the computer (not just removing the valve or blocking it off).
