I was looking into getting Ford Racing GT-40 intake manifolds ($700.00 with gaskets), GT-40 cylinder heads ($525.00 complete), 65mm TB ($325.00), Inlet Adapter ($120.00), New Strut Tower Brace ($132.00), Ring and Pinion Gears (3:55) ($200.00), Roller Rocker Arms (1.70:1) ($293.00), and headers ($280.00 stainless steel). All together if i get these parts from Ford Racing it could cost up to $2650.00!!! The 65mm TB costs $325.00 from Ford!! I think i could get some of these parts cheaper, including headers, the throttle body, and a few others. If anyone has any suggestions, on where to get the parts cheaper, or different ones that are cheaper? Also, i'm gonna keep my stock injectors, if i put a better fuel pump, will that give me more HP?

For one the GT-40 intake is wayyyy over priced! Its the same thing as a Cobra, just looks different. That TN is way over priced too from Ford... find it somewhere else. Also check out other companies liek trickflow, edelbrock, BBK, mac for head, intakes, headers. Fuel pump will not give you more HP.

Thanks for the info, i was also thinking about going that route, going with Explorer GT-40 Heads, and Intake. I also thought about a E303 cam. What size fuel injectors come stock with the 94-95 5.0's? How common are these explorer intakes at junkyards, and how much fab work is going to be needed to make them fit in a mustang? I cant do much fabbing on my own, so i'd probably have to get it done

The gt-40 is overpriced, but you can get the standard kit w/gaskets for around 595.00 , but you would still have to get the adapter. I think summit sells them for that, I got mine at lonestar performance for about that price, or you could get other intakes for a little less.

Stock 5.0's have 19lbs injectors. The gt40p explorer heads are every were summit sells them or jsut order them from autozone tell them you need heads for a 97 explorer. As far as cam's goes you need to figure out what you really want to do as far as performance then go from there.

I also thought about getting gears. 3:55 are not as low as 3:73, and i do want to keep the car good for highway driving. Would 3:55 still be a good upgrade, also, what about 3:27's?
