Hey all.. putting together a very simple performance engine build... I have a 99 explorer engine, with GT-40P heads and explorer intake... i want to run a E303 cam...

Now, i want to go ahead and upgrade the valve springs and retainers while im at it..

I was looking at using the Ford Racing M6513A50 single valve springs and retainers.. as they are supposed to work with all GT-40 heads..
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=44
Good or No?

now im kinda confused on the rockers... will the stock rockers work? or do i need to upgrade? can i get a reccommendation if so? as i dont know what the explorer heads came with compared to the tipical E7's on the mustangs and/or if the rockers are the same.

Thanks

Yes the stock rockers off of either will work but if you have the extra cheese buy some good roller rockers.

Stock rockers will work. I run a set of scorpion 1.6 pedestal mount RRs. If you decide to run a set of 1.7s remember to recalculate the valve lift to make sure that your springs will still work with them.

Just last weekend I put a set on my brothers car, we used some the stock cam and a 1.7 RR. Using 1.7's with your e-cam will put you at .529 valve lift. Looks like those frpp springs arent recomended with the stock rockers. I hear people using the TFS spring kit with good results also.

I run a TFS spring kit on my p heads. The springs are good to .542" max lift.
