Hello all,

I am new so please forgive me if this has already been asked. I could not find any info on this.

About a few weeks, my GT decided to not start. I would turn the key in the ignition and the Mustang lights would come on and the gages to point but, the car would not start. Almost as if the ignition kill was enabled.

So i call a tow truck, they show up and push the car and tell me to give it gas. The car starts. I get it to the mechanic. I tell him the car "wont start on occasion". We start the car several times with no incident.

He runs a battery test, an ignition test, and a charger test. Every things is in working order.

A few days pass, I start the car in the morning, drive it to work. PArk the car.
Put up the top ( its a convertible) and need to move the car. Car wont start. I wait 15 minutes, the car starts.

I did try one expeirment today. I started the car 7x times in a row. 1st and 2nd try, no problem. On the 3rd try, i heard a strange "choke sound" and the car started. On the 4th try, the car started but it was shakey almost as if it was reaching to start experience. On the 5th, it started like the prior 4 times and i drove it here to work. Tried to start it again (6th time), would not start. 15 minutes laters ( 7th time) it starts.:bang:

So far, prior to this problem, I have changed the the Idle Controller and the manifold.

Any ideas? I have heard everything from the fuel pump, to the ignition, to the solinoid (sp?), to a short, to the "Sender".:(

Funny thing is when people push her, she works. So i was thinking maybe the fly wheel. I dunno.

All i know is il ove this car and have no plans to get rid of it (problems and all). And trust me, she has had alot of problems so far.

Sounds electrical to me.. You hearing any clicks other than the starter? My buds car did the same thing, he had a short where the maf's wire goes into the fender. It took a worthless dealership two weeks to figure it out. I had it narrowed down to where it was in 2 minutes before he took it in. Tards...

Thank you

Well to answer the questions:

1) I have a brand new Idle Controller

2) I have a cold air intake that is clean.

3) The alarm is a Ford alarm.

4) Hmmmmm wiring is not something i am too good at.

I am scheduled to take it to ford tomorrow. Gosh this sucks.
IS there anything I can do to test it on my own tonite?

thanks
