Hey guys,

Can you guys turn on your fog lights without turning your headlights or parking lights on? Or do you have to turn on the parking lights on and then the fog lights can be turned on? What I am trying to do is run my electric manual switch to the fog light switch, because there is a fuse just for the fog lights, but I need to know if I can just turn the foglights on by themselves. I have an LX and has the GT wiring hooked up already. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks

I don't own a GT but I believe you have to have your parking lights on before you can turn on the foglights...atleast that is the way it was on my 2000 GT (way different I know...)...

I know there is a tech article on having to wire the fog light just to turn on ONLY when you turn on the foglight switch and can turn them off whenever you want. I want to do this some I can run my foglights whenever I want and not worry about the wires burning up due to the high current going through a small gauge wire hooked up for parking lights/headlights/foglights. You can divided the the lights to its own relays. Check out www.corral.net and look on the tech articles for electronics I believe under Fox.

I strated to do the wiring rerouting to run them with the stock fog light swtich and I burnt it up pretty bad when I hit a power wire to a ground wire. I have to get a new connector and try it agian...I got messed up when I tryed to run a relay. I just have them wired sperate and I can run them whenevr I want to now

there isthe fog light fix that rewires the fog lights so they turn on with ur corner light, that process involves wiring them in the corner light wires so that it sends a signal to the relay, saying theres power, in other words they'll turn on when the corner lights r on, BUT u can change the wire that send the signal to let the fog light turn on, wire them into say ur cig lighter, (this is on when the cars on) that way when ur cars on it'll send a signal to the relay that will let u turn ur fog lights on with out ur head lights or parking lights. u can get the fog light fix off the net, real easy to do.

I completed the GT foglight fix, from the Corral, and now my foglights are on all the time. Even when my keys are out of the ignition and the switch is turned off. Anyone have any suggestions. I posted a thread about this but only got two replies. I checked all of the wiring, made sure that I had all good connections. I can't figure it out. The only thing that I can think of is that the tap in connector is not cutting through the insulation on the wire and making a good connection, or that the relay is bad. I think that it was open when I bought it. Maybe some one brought a bad relay back to Radio Shack, and the put it back on the shelf?
Otherwise, the tech article on the Corral seems pretty straight forward. The hardest part was getting the dash apart!

mine came from the factory with the fogs only coming on when the headlights are on. I had alot of problems with switches burning up and wires so I did a fix that was in a magazine that runs a relay off your parking lamps but has it's own power wire from the the solenoid from the firewall. It looks killer with the fogs and the parks on.

there is an easy fix to turn the foglights on whenever you want in the 94-95 specific section like a couple days ago...

just have to run a line from the convertible harness power to that of the fog light switch and you're good- and if i remember correctly the conv. harness is on EVERY car

there's a good tut on it- seems like a really easy job
