I am curious about the difference in the two sets of heads. Or are they pretty much the same? Thats the feeling I get but what do I know. I dont have a huge budget so I was thinking saveing up for an S-trim that I can get through a buddy who is a dealer for a great price. So maybe I would eventually get my stock heads ported. Now, will the power gains be worth the price of port and polishing? Or is buying a set of better heads more benificial. Please put into your thoughts budget. TFS TW heads cost about 1100 box stock plus rr's, valve covers, oil filler and install. What do you guys think? If any one has any experiences with vortech and port and polished h/i let me know.

E7s are the stock GT heads and iron cast GT40s are the stock cobra head. Obviously the cobra head flows better than the GT head. Theres a sticky on the main page of the 94-95 forum that has flow numbers for popular heads and the stock heads as well, check it. Good luck

cobra came with gt40's, gt came with e7's. if you are on a budget, go with the gt40's.

He has GT40's already (see his sig.). Your heads are better then E7's out of the box. You want to go further then have them ported or switch to AFR's or TFS aluminum's.

thanks guys. My other question was, getting them port and polished, is it worth the price of the gains you will get from port and polishing? I assume it would be a pretty good price to have someone do it right? shipping and machine work. So, would I be paying close to if not the same price for porting as I would for buying a set of TFS TW heads?

Your blower is gonna cram all that gas and air in whatever head you choose so ...... IMHO ...... head choice in your case is not gonna be as critical as in a NA combo.

If you could find a set of Aluminum heads that are not as popular as TFS, AFR, or Edels that flowed the same as your GT40's for a price close to where you could exchange them ...................

You are gonna be ahead with the Aluminums cause they are gonna have thicker decks and they are more ping resistant than the older iron heads.

Just my .02!
