has anyone tried putting in guages like autometer offers for the 99+ stang. i want to install a setup kind of like that with all the factory guage positions, but do it with the new sport comp 2 guages, and a tach that can bust out of the 7g range.

i didnt want to use those guages though. i just knew they didnt work because they are electronically driven. my real question was if someone had constructed something similar to them, using the new sport comp 2 guages. i was just reffering to them as the way they looked. i didnt want to hijak the thread he was on anyways cuz it was a different question

You can make anything work its only gauges...wether you want to go this extent for some gauges is strictly up to you
Get a bezel made, and run each gauge you want (Sport Comp 2)

No they dont have a simple remove/replace cluster with gauges for our car

darn, wasnt quite sure. i just liked how those guages flowed into one another. i didnt want to hack up some guages just to get them to fit the way i wanted, but that is what it looks like the menu has in store for me. do you know of any site that has clusters "premade" without the guages?

Good luck! I made some paper circles to represent the 6 gauges and there just isn't enough space in the cluster to fit everything.

well....what i was hoping to do was do the shaving to the corners like the autometer cluster does. didnt really want to like i said, but it does give a cleaner look and it has a factory appearance to it. just need to make sure something vital isnt in the way before i grind into the housings. i would assume not but im going to try and disamantle before i do it. nothing like a good project to do, that and rewire the indicators and lights....even better...lol. i'll take pics of the before and after. this is all gonig in a fox body. started the project out at school (wyotech) and now im mid-way into it. im recovering the dash in leather as well as the center console, and i really wanted the guages to be one off as well. all the other panels in the car are completely one off customs and will be wrapped in the same synthetic leather. this is more or less the show all piece for my new business. sry about the off topic....thx for the help guys.

If you can get all 6 gauges to fit in the dash, please post pics. I bet you could develop a kit or just the cluster housing and sell it!!! I know I'd be interested.
