I have been saving up some money and want to build a motor that is guarenteed to be 10 sec capable. I am going to use a 347 shortblock and an s trim. Does anyone know of anything based off of these 2 requirements? Also what compression ratio? I was thinking of using the tfs track heat kit with a custom cam but I think that may be a little more of a low 11 combo.

yea ur 10 second car will rely on the suspension set up and tires you use for tracktion along with gearing in the trans and rear end.i also am goin to use a 347 stroker for my twin turbo project and i will be using a 10:1 compresion, with no boost it should turn 4 - 5 hundred horses if done right with boost ull have no problem having the power u need to turn that number,as for heads and manifolds should all be matched for what rpm range u want it to make powerhigh flowing parts are very good for big power but suck off the line, expect to turn 7 grand with the highest flowing parts,
do you plan to use an outomatic, they are more reliable but ****y to rebuild make sure ur drivetrain can survie that rush of power, what rear will u use?

Right now My rear has 4.30 on it with the blower and it actually seems to run really good like that. I have an 8.8 with strange axles and a full spool. I didnt think you could really go to 10-1 comp with boosted cars.

You can easily build 10 sec power on motor with a 347.

10-1 is kinda high and doesnt last to long but will make that engine scream, specialy with race gas witch is what im goin to use, easy 10 seconds with the right combo, if u want to stay safe id recomend around 8-1 compresion on pump 93, ur 8.8 will hold fine as long as its up to par.just get some sticky tires

I was planning on going with 9-1 comp. Still using pump gas.

347 with any aluminum head, trickflow stage II cam, aftermarket intake of your choice and automatic trans with 3500+ stall.

you'll need to change your rear gears.

with x heads, aod and stall with sc trim i did 11.3 with a 302
