Bought a Sonic Blue 2002 GT today. So yellow95gt isn't going to work. So I'm new to the 4.6 world.

It an 02 GT 5-speed with a BBK cold air kit, 75mm BBK throttle body and C&L uper plenum. It also has a flowmaster cat back...What should it run? ...and what gears will it have?

14's and if they havnt modded the gears yet stock 3.27's , add some stickes 4:10s and cam the hell out of the engine (if emissions arnt an issue) and just go from there ! Congrats on the new buy,,... !!! Its a whole new world !

Well first off, welcome to the 4.6 world. Sonic Blue is a very nice color...

They can run low 14's/high 13's stock if your a good driver. With some practice you should be able to pull off a 13.8-14.0.

So long as the gears are still stock all 5 speeds have 3.27's.

Swapping to 4.10's makes the car fun as hell to drive. 3.73's or 3.90's are a good compromise if your on the highway alot.

Thanks for the advised and welcomes...O and I also have a set of march underdrive pullies....was wondering why there was a spot for 2 belts on the crank. So even with the mods. 13.8 to 14.0 ( sigh ). and I'll be driving it everyday to work, 20 miles. So what should it run with 3.73's?....Again guys. Thanks

Those pulleys are piggyback style, so no other belt goes on there, it uses the stock crank one for balance/damping. Going from 3:27s to 3:73, will prob only get you another ~.1 in mostly stock form as you have an extra shift to make, but will get though the powerband better. On the street, should feel much better.

I dropped 2/10ths of a second at the track when I switched to 4.10's.

I would also go with about 1/10th as LIGTStang stated, a little more if you are a fast shifter and run some sticky tires.

Nice buy, some things to think about.

1. 3.73 Gears
2. Steeda under drive pullies
3. Aluminum drive shaft
4. 93 Oct. custom tune
5. Full exhaust

If you are going to get a supper charger down the road don’t put on the pullies and don’t get a CAI. If you want to stay N/A go for stage one cam, LT headers and a new intake, that should put you around 280-290 rwhp (340 crank hp). I have seen guys run in the high 12s with a full bolt on GT.

My 99GT is an auto and with 4.10's and a few bolt-ons I ran a 14.1@100mph. You are right there with your estimated e.t.
