Guess my horspower

Im just about done with my new engine. Its a 306 with the the trick flow setup, 9.5 compression, 75mm t/b, and 30 lb injectors. Nothin to fancy. Befor I get any flames about why I went with 30lbers and a 75 t/b, its because in a year or so Im hoping to put a supercharger on it. Just preparing ahead of time. While I was in there I went ahead and put a 3g alt on and a electric fan. If I new how to post pics on here I would. Anyways It will be done in about 2 weeks or so. I just waiting for my dcc fan controler. As soon as Im done Im taking it to get dyno tuned. My question is, It looks like most guys on here are getting about 300+ rwh from a combo like this. I live in Colorado Springs which is at about 6,000+ feet. Im just wonding what you guys think I should be getting at this altitude so Im not to disapointed when I see the numbers. Does about 250 rwh sound about right. God that just sucks, lol.

how about ummmmmmm NO.............these thread are takin up space. ill only guess if it says "the closest one to the actual #'s get 20 bucks"

even with a s/c the 30 are prolly still going to be a lil big.

I would have thought, assuming when he said "trick flow setup", he would mean everything that comes with that kit, in which case, 250 RWHP doesn't sound bad at all? Most people end up with 280-290 from that kit with the supporting bolt-ons, so 250 is not a bad guess at all.

I don't know why you guys are being asses to him.

actually im not being an ass. i guess u dont know me on here real well. these threads just get old. at least 6/wk on here.

yeah a 306(not much pwer difference between the 302) with the TFS kit and all the supporting mods i would say no mre then 270rwhp until he does get the s/c cause of the 30#'ers

Dont listen to Blake, he is the biggest spammer this forum has ever seen You will struggle a bit with the big injectors, but I think your 250 rwhp is a good guess. The blower should give you another 100 easily. your dyno guy will be able to make the correction to tell you what your sea level #s would be. Dont concentrate on your dyno numbers too much, if it pulls like you think it should, your good to go.

That's all it is though... are guesses. Put your car on the dyno as it sits to give you a baseline. You'll be a better position to estimate improvements.

On a side note:
You can do all you like to that motor and dump money in it till the cows come home but if you don't do something with the exhaust then the additional efficiency you're trying to build into that motor will be near worthless.

lol, you guys kill me. I know there are post like this all the time on here. Its the same old same old. You just never see any about high altitude. I guess I should have asked was the horsepower ratio from sea level to 6000 feet. But doing some looking online I came up with 82% By the way dagger you said something about I need exhaust. I figured that was a given. I have equal length shorties with an h-pipe. Do you think my 30lb injectors are going to hurt me that much? Even with a good tune? Thanks guys.

hell the kit gives you around 290.. and you see around a 5 hp gain from boring it out to a 306.. you definately need smaller injectors.. and a more accustomed cam would wake it up more than it will.. i'd run with a Crane 2021 cam or a AFM cam
