P heads are ok if you find some in good condition and want to keep your stock cam. If you run a move aggressive cam, then you need to upgrade the springs. Then while you are doing that you will want to get a valve job done. Then that will lead to a quick port job, and soon you will wish you would have spent that money on a set of better flowing, lighter aluminum aftermarket heads.
But... if you find good, clean, low mileage P's then throw them on and go to town. That will net a good 60-75 rwhp easily over the e7's
All the usual basic bolt-on mods (CAI/MAF/TB/pulleys/headers/midpipe/catbacks) plus aftermarket aluminium heads/cam/intake. Ported GT40/GT40P's can also get you close to 300rwhp but if they're left unported, you'd get more like 270 from the GT40's and 280 from the GT40P's.
Damn sure wish I waited to install the parts lol, but thank you too for your help. I'm going to wait a while and pick up a 306 and build it correctly. Now all I have to do is clean my old intake, anything I can use to clean it
