A guy told me to use Gunk's ValveMedic to clear carbon from my engine, which could possibly be causing all the pinging i'm experiencing. He told me its better than seafoam...any input?

I do a full bottle of seafoam via vac line then use B-12 Chemtool as a fuel injector cleaner.

The bottle says every 3g's but since most stangs (sport cars) make quite a few WOT blast carbon build up isn't as bad (depends on fuel being used as well). Since just starting my seafoam regomen(sp?) I'll be doing mine every 3rd oil change or every 15,000 miles.

Like any other fuel injector cleaner take to the pump pour it in fill her up to get a good mix and drive it like you stole it.....don't let the b-12 get on the paint....

I've tried those products and I have to say from first hand experience that they don't do ANYTHING. When I removed my heads, I still spent two hours with the wire brush and drill to get the caked on carbon off the pistons.

And you're suprised some mild chemicals didn't remove 10 yrs worth of carbon build up? Seafoam/B-12 does help improve gas mileage and throttle response and help remove/break up some carbon (also through the intake track). Seafoam helped my motor (126,000) and my buddys GTS (160,000) so they do help.
