hey guys, just curious if u guys are happy with the v6 in your stang?
i remember the old 3.8 days where it wasnt a huge market. i thought about getting another stang. i had an 89 GT vert and a 96 cobra. i test drove the v6 and it was pretty nice. i didnt mind it much at all. what do u guys think of it? the motor seems like it has some potential to be a contender with other cars. i am just curious about what u guys think of your cars up to this point..modded or not modded. :SNSign:

I'm pretty happy with it. I got mine with the X-plan. The GTs I was looking at were at least $8000-10000 more at the time. Had I been able to get one with the X-plan I would have paid the extra $4000-5000 more.
My last car was a '92 5.0 and this car is close to the same performance with just a tune and CAI. So far the 4.0 has proven to be very mod friendly. Powerhouse has already ran the 1/4 at 12.3 with nitrous and an 11.8 with their own turbo, all on a stock motor.
If you can't get a GT at a good price or just can't afford the extra payments and insurance, you'll be plenty happy with the V6.

Im so happy with mine I dont think I would buy the GT, even if I got a good deal on one. I paid 20K, the lowest cost GT I could find was 33K.

Im not so V8 crazy I needed to spend another 13K.

yeah most of the coupe GT's i find here are like 27k for the deluxe models. not too bad! they just cant keep them on the lots but there are plenty of v6's. the salesman told me the performance is very close to the 5.0's (stock wise). if i did buy a v6, i would definitely turbocharge it. im gonna enjoy my 05 expedition for a while before i go stang shopping

I'm very happy with mine... considering I bought the car for 19k its a heck of an awesome ride... even better now that I've upgraded the exhaust and intake. When I finally drop a tune on the car... watch out!!!

I had a 93 5.0 before and it is the same class performance. I've been suprised by the potential of this car. If you drive the GT, you will feel the difference. However, the new 6 is still a good performing car. I love it and it is fun to drive. And there is already a pretty good market for our cars.

I love my V6, and all I have done to it are appearance mods. I want to get 5,000 miles on it before I get the tune and add the CAI. I can appreciate the power now, more peformance oriented than muscle car. No regrets.

I thought you were getting your Detroit put in today, you holding off now? Or did you drop off your car already.

Details man!!!!! Must have more details! And I found another muscle car shop, in Chantilly...on RT50, mostly old muscle cars but they do late model mustangs as well. Jarret at AutoUpgrade told me to go there to use thier dyno. They are called E3 he said, I will look it up.

I am going to have to contact Auto Upgrade or E3. LA Drop shop wants me to drop off the car on Sunday and then pick it up next week. I can't afford to spend that time driving back and forth (Finals in 2 weeks).

I know I have made some posts that sounded like I didn't like it, but after seeing the GT version of my V6 up close and personal....I like my V6 BETTER. ( I can't stand those foglights!!! ) It's quick but not too quick, it has, imho, a more retro style. You want to race get the V8. You just want a leisurly cruise at a damn good price, get the V6. Best move I made. Really.

I feel the same way! IMO I think the fog lights are stupid looking and the new pony package fog lights are even worse. just my opinion tho.

I actually don't mind the pony package. It looks more retro and I like that about these mustangs. I'm gonna take a look at a pony package car. May be interested in getting the grill and side emblems one day.

Actually I hear the old 6 banger stangs are good as well...if you are willing to stroke the engine. They have a strong block and I've seen people get high numbers on them, 300RWHP.

For the old 6 bangers, go to this site:

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/

You may be suprised. I love all stangs, even the Mustang II....not sure if I would buy one though.

If they were the same price, everybody would get a V8, but they're not, and the V6 is a damn good deal for the money.
