in that thread there was mention of 01 gt that had casting problems with the heads on the car.

i want a kb blower9 psi kit. for my last mod. thought if i built the engine and got stage 1 ported heads i would be fine.

i have not heard of this issue with the heads, can someone tell me more about it? will my car be a problem i have a 02 gt, was this problem only on 01, or 01 and up?

someone ask this in that thread but answers seemed unclear to me.....please fill me in.

When I asked that question, the response was it was only 2001 that had an issue. Wasn't fords problem, but a supplier issue.

in the 2001 model year, there was a casting mistake on the modular heads. This was only the 01 model yeah. It causes the motors compression to be slightly higher.

If you get the heads ported they should be fine. If I remember correctly the combustion chamber area was smaller than spec and it upped compression a bit.

If you got the heads ported they should be able to work the area and get it right.

Unless the casting flaw is more serious.

If you get your heads ported, you should be okay, just get a good shop to do it.
