Guys running eletric fans, what alt. you running?

I upgraded to 120 amp alt.My problem(s)were with fan-controller conflicts.I got a 30/40 anp relay cause I couldnt get a 75amp relay anywhere arround here.So I Couldnt run HIGH speed 3.8l taurus fan with out burning up wire\fan controller.Its cooling fairly well with low speed.for now.MAN that HIGH speed wire on 3.8l has GIANT startup spike(pop,pop,sizzle,crack,smoke) DCC anyone????

Did that alt. bolt right into place of the stocker and use the stock connections and all? If you dont mind me asking, whatd it cost?

I did basically the same. Alt bolts right in but you have to grind the stock bracket a little for clearance. It's aluminum so a dremel would work. I used a 4'' grinder and it took like 30 seconds. I got mine at Advance and it was $150 and I gave them back my old '89 alt in exchange and they credited me $50 so about $100 total for alt. Then the wiring and fuse/fuse holder was maybe another $15 or so.

so you do have to wire it like a sn95 alt then? :shrug: Just not a plug and play thing
