I have a problem. I just got some used tokico illumas at one hell of a price but heres the deal. On one of the struts the 12345 dial indicator broke off and on the rears there are no numbers on the adjusting dial. How the hell do i know on the one strut and the rear shocks what setting i'm on. I thought that it would stop turning at 1 and five but it keeps rotating. What the hell now? Any input/suggestions would be awesome. Thanks guys.

Hmm, good qusetion. Yeah it doesnt stop at any point. Only thing I can think of is trial & error. Bounce the car up & down and then turn it, and bounce it up & down again. If its firmer then go from there.

One thing I remember back when I got mine is that I was told you cant go from directly from 1-5 or 5-1, you have to go all the way around for it to be correct. I'd call tokico honestly, cuz I dont know if there is any way of knowing.

What you have to do is determine where position 1 and 5 are. This is easily done with the shock out of the car, by hand. Since 1 and 5 are next to each other, you will have two positions that will vary greatly. You can turn the dial counter-clockwise, as well as clockwise. Once they are determined by the feel of compressing the shock by hand, you can mark positions 1 and 5 with some white out on the shaft. Every other position is now known, because the adjuster will never line up at the white marks unless 1 or 5 is selected.
