goin to look at a 91lx tonight. owner tells me over the phone its got h/c/i not sure of the specifics though. I guess im just looking for some feedback from those of you who daily drive your h/c/i fox. thanks

Alot of it will depend on just how radical the combo is. I DD'ed my '90 with HCI/4.10 for about 5 years but I consider my setup to be relatively mild. The two main reasons I stopped: suspension upgrades that brought a stiffer ride and moving to L.A. (traffic...all the time!).

I daily drive my mild HCI setup. Its not bad. It does well on the highway...25+MPG all the time driving 75-80mph. In town is a different story...probably 14-16mpg. I need a tune to fix some driveability issues but overall its not too bad. LOUD but good haha. gears will be a big contributing factor. Short gears make it a little worse i think.

My car performed very well with a h/c/i. Car has 3.73 gears and mods in sig also. I drove it alot before the oil pump failure, and the only time I didn't like to drive it was when it was first started and I was hitting the road. Once it had a little bit of heat in it, it was just like stock, just sounded a hell of a lot different. I had ed curtis grind me a pretty nasty cam that would still clear the stocker pistons, and the car never bucked at all in high gear at 1500rpm. No tune either, just timing, and fuel pressure. Didn't get the gas mileage it used to though, but a tune would take care of it.

I daily drove my h/c/i fox for 2.5 years with no tune. Fuel Pressure and Timing as well...and some good matched parts.

I loved it!

I got an increase in gas mileage in mine. About an average of 3 mpg.

well went to go look at it and decided not to buy it. body and paint werent in that good of shape interior was about the same and it had no PS or AC so it wasnt quite what i was looking for
