MM&FF ran a 12.81 at 109 in a bone stock SS. They ran a 13.1x out of a bone stock Mach 1 at 105 I think.

3200lb. 5.0 with 275rwhp 4.10 gear/tires vs. 3500lb. 310rwhp LS1 with 10bolt......win goes to the 5.0. Should be a close race, even with both cars running the same tires.

Sorrry matt, but you are going on theory, i go by what actually happens.

Ported stock headed mustangs rarely run in the 12's even on slicks. Ls1 cars get there showroom stock.

Now take the slicks away from the mustang, and the race is a blowout, with the ls1 car smoking the mustang.

You just read above that the z28 mm&ff tested ran 109, that's about 6-8mph faster than a mustang.

He mentioned using aluminum heads, that's what my statement was based on. Stock 12 sec. fbodies are rare. Low 13's usually--13.1-13.3 for a well driven 6spd. Regardless of which heads are used, 275rwhp in a 3200lb fox with better gearing and drag radials should beat a stock fbody, given equal drivers. Evan Smith did run 12.8, but give him said fox and I'm sure he would go mid 12's.

Actually 12s on a N/A ported head is all over... here are a some guys doing it!!

12.45 ET @ 108.4 mph 1.73 60 ft
90 Hatch w/4 speed toploader trans

11.65 @ 115.8 mph
91 LX on 175 shot of NOS
12.30 @ 106 1.77 60 fts
E cam 3000 lbs and 5 spd

12.80 @ 106 N/A, 11.88 @ 119 mph 100 shot
11.83 @ 115 n/a 347 stroker

The first pass of the day was a 12.58 @ 108 mph, the car seemed to boog a little out of the hole. The second and last pass was a 12.45 @ 108.4 on a 1.73 60 ft!! the heads and cam were unreal!! I droped almost a full second from before with the head change!! 93 LX 5 spd

!!!!!!!!! first round 8.091 2ed 8.095 3rd 8.092 4th opps 8.087 well can.t win them all but you can scar the **** out of them !!!!. 60ft was 1.789 , .008 .012 .015 .001 lights oweeeee!!!!!!!!!!! so far the # went from 8.68 to 8.08 but i am only shifting at 5600, what was the rpm range of that cam,

...I just like the idea of banging 12s on ported stock parts...
The way i see it...i got a mild cam, the heads, and decent breathing mods...i got almost 300FWHP...not to shabby far as im concerned...thats about adding 80 HP over stock...thats a nice, noticable hit...

4000 lb '68 F100 pick up truck. Ported E7s .. C4, carb
went 8.70's 1/8 mile @ 81 mph
(365 FWHP - 280 RWHP ) 22% DT loss

Just a few guys.. there are a lot more, but space is limited, cool?? But a ported head will make the 300-350 FWHP with out too many mods!!

Just me..........................
