Question to all of you with the heat extractor hood. I am getting my Vortech S trim and it seems like the supercharger will sit almost underneath the hood vents. Does anybody worry about water getting in there and causing any problems? I dont ever drive the car in the rain, but what about when washing it?

I use a strip of 2” wide blue painter’s tape on the underside of each vent. During washing, I avoid dousing the vent areas with water and sponge up the excess.

I have driven in the rain and the snow without any problems. As for washing, you will have to ask somebody else

Whenever I wash my Saleen Cobra I lay a couple of towels over the top of the engine directly beneath the hood vents. I then use the damp towels to wipe down the engine compartment, trunk & door jambs.

Unless, of course, I'm also detailing the engine compartment then it's already going to be wet...

I've wondered the same thing about water going through and causing problems, but I just wash mine normally and haven't had any issues.

I stick the nozzle of the hose down them vents. She steams up all over the place but I think she likes it.

The last time the Speedster saw a bucket of soap and water was when Ted came to visit, yeah, it has been a few years... I wonder when he is passing through Colorado...

You would be correct, April 2004 it was, in Tennesse. It's still clean, so no need to get out the bucket yet
