h4 headlight conversion

how hard would it be to rewire for a h4 headlight conversion. still not decided between the halogen h4 bulb or a real hid h4 bulb

HID is not the same as H4.

Use SEARCH to find other threads regarding the use of relay harnesses to power H4 conversions. It is an improvement for any headlight arrangement and well worth the time and money. Very easy to install, pretty much "plug-and-play".

I agree with the above posts and will add that "Painless Wiring" makes the harness to do this.

Just did it a few weeks ago, piece of cake - ordered the below from summit and got a H4 diamond cut semi sealed kit off ebay for about $25. Quick mod - lot of difference. No cutting wires - plug and play

oh i know that h4 and hid's are not the same but what i ment is that they sell a hid kit for the h4 style bulb. i read somewhere else that hid actually use less power so do i still need to run a relay.

You should run a relay no matter what because if you don't all the current for the head lights will be running through that switch in yer dash. It is a lot safer if you put the relays in and it is also an overall improvement to the electrical system.

You can get HID kits that has sockets that plugs relays straight into the headlight socket which powers the ballast for the bulb, and the bulb. All the existing headlight wiring does now is switches those relays. It all just plugs in, if you have H4 headlight sockets already that is, otherwise you can just splice.

The bulbs even have a solenoid operated shield that changes the light from low to high beam. I'm not sure if it's a legal method of operating (over there or here) but it's worth finding out about if you have the money.

EDIT: And I believe the bulbs even fit H4 housings.

They have no high-beam though.
