Had a bad experience with Edelbrock IAS shocks today

I've been waiting 2 months for my front shocks to come in, my rears already arrived a month ago and I already installed them but the fronts were backordered.

Anyway, I picked them up Friday and decide to install them today. I installed the driver's side first and it went in nicely. On the passenger's side I had to replace the spring seat at the same time. After a few hours I finally got the spring seat swapped out and the spring back in place.

I installed the passenger side shock and tightened all the bolts. I put the wheel back on and set the car back on the ground. Immediately I noticed fluid dripping on the ground, upon further inspection I found it was coming out of the shock!

Talk about quality control! I couldn't believe it.
I hope I don't have to wait another 2 months to get a replacement :(

I take it you're just venting? We've all gotten defective parts before. I hope you don't think they check every single shock that comes off the line, or do you?

Pull out the 800 number to Edelbrock and see if they can give you an RMA # and Fed-Ex you a new one...

You're Canadian eh?... you should be more laid back dude! :D

Be laid back, why? For the price of the shocks and the amount of time he had to wait, I understand his frustration. Good luck Great68.

Exactly. It's such an inconvenience when I was hoping of putting insurance on the car soon so I could enjoy all the upgrades :(
