Man, that sucks dude. That happened to me once except I was farther out in the intersection and I got t-boned. Guy never even slowed down! My back kept hurting and almost a year later I compressed a disk in my back and after they did an MRI they found out that I had fractured my back in the accident! The worst part was that the car was only three weeks old and I was upsidedown on it. Good thing I had gap insurrance!

Holy crap if your agent don't think its gone get a new adjuster asap. To try and get the exhaust may be a pickle thow cause they may say its theres when they pay it off so you can say it's aftermarket and that youll give em the original, but you still gotta get off and thatll cost ya too.

my insurance agent said that the insurance company of the guy that hit me would say if it was totalled or not since it was the other guys fault

Yeah, that's the way it is. But you can harass their adjuster. You should be able to get his/her number from your agent.

A lot of people don't seem to know this but the amount you get from your insurance company is very much negotiable, you do not have to accept their first offer. Be firm. When I wrote off my car the insurance company started at $14K and I ended up getting $18,500.

I don't know the specifics about your policy but it should be for replacement value in the case of a total write off. The best advice is what others have already said...go online and get as many prices as you can for similar cars that are for sale in your area. Take the five highest ones to your insurance co. and demand an equivilant price for yours.

yeah i had a 89 that got totalled and i got almost 5 grand for it and only paid 2500 for it so you can not settle till you get more. sorry to here about that but it will work out

I know that you may be bummed, but all I can think was that if you had hit the gas you would probably be a lot worse off. Glad you are ok.
