I drove it around a bit this afternoon. It sounds awesome but drives like s**t.

The tune is so far off it is laughable. It surges and bucks, and just generally doesn't like what happened to it. It sound sweet though.

On the bright side though it does rev really fast. Like so fast that I will probably see over 10psi of boost before I hit 3500 RPM once it is tuned. I had it up to 4000 rpm under part throttle and it gets there pretty fast. It is going to take some getting used to the aluminum flywheel and that clutch though.

And if anyone has reservations about the Spec Stage 3, it drives like a stocker in traffic except it is a little heavier on the clutch pedal.

Now if only I could keep the intercooler pipes from slipping off under cruising.:(

Are you using the stock clutch quadrant? I've got the UPR quad and firewall adjuster and it grabs like no clutch I've experienced except one's in the BIG trucks, like Kenworths. Can't wait till next year and see what she runs at the track. Congrats on getting her running!

Joe,

It is important to get tha A/F ratio bang on before you start putting miles on the car. You are probably not going to like what I am going to suggest but...

I wouldn't start the car again until it is on the dyno. That means trailoring the car to where you are getting it tuned. Get a conservative break-in tune and take it back for a good tune once you have a few thousand kilometers on the car. It is going to be costly, but it is better in the end.

Anyway, good to hear you have her running and out on the roads.

I was told the tune will be OK for break in. I haven't changed the injectors or the MAF. The tune will be off under boost but not while under vacuum. I can't get into boost with it right now anyway until it is broken in. MPH told me I will be fine as long as I don't pound on it too hard in the mean time.

The problem with that suggestion is that I would have to trailer it to either Winnipeg or Calgary which is more then both tunes. I would rather just send off the ECM and get them to put one that is closer.

The bucking and surging is from the intercooler and bypass. I knew that would happen, everyone that has added one has had that problem. It idles fairly smooth, it accelerate smooth, and it winds down smooth. It will surge on cruising if you hold the RPMs. That is from the intercooler and bypass.
