well not 5.0 related but,

today for work we had to walk damn near 18 miles through the woods with a 50 pound rucksack and a mk46 saw.im probably the most tired ive ever been.

well just thought i would complain a little.

Good ol' military training. I've been there my friend.

I think the worse I had was 2 miles with 140lbs of gear on after being on duty all day.

what service? is a mk48 a special version 'cuz in my basic/ait i've only known them as m249's. i havent been lucky enough to get close to 20 miles yet but i wish i could have.

just wait till you get to iraq. im in a recon plt and 50lbs is nothing to worry about. ive got that and then some tied up in just my plate carrier. then you throw a few bottles of water, radio, extra mags, extra hedp 203 rounds, bolt cutters or wire cutters, etc etc etc on top of that but you get the picture oh and its getting close to being summer again so its gonna be 130 during the day. dont complain about garrison bs until you know what the meaning of suck really is.

Did a search on the information because I used to carry a M249. Here is what I found:

The MK46 is an M249 variant developed to meet a US Special Operations requirement for a lightweight light machine gun that would retain the intrinsic functionality and reliability of the standard M249. (Available in Black. Flat Dark Earth color availability - TBD).

Weight reduction was achieved by using a new lightweight fluted barrel removing the magazine well and vehicle mounting lugs, and incorporating a titanium bipod.

Unique to the MK46 is the forward rail that accommodate scopes, laser designators and flashlights. It also accommodates a forward pistol grip and has a detachable bipod.

This weapon has been adopted by the US Navy.

yea it really sucks for me because my legs are friggin short as hell.but i can still manage.i feel like total balls today.everything in my legs aches and...well im just suckin right now.

well that was just a ruckmarch.

i really cant go into too much detail about what i wear or use but lets just say it aint light.

hmm, interesting. i mean, i havent been in long so other than m4s, m16 variants, SAWs, 240s, .50 cals and AT4's, i dont know much other than the mk18... found out from a navy classmate in AIT that it's a cut down m4. i didnt realize they'd cut down even more but he said he used them when he used to board vessels.

I've done 10 mile humps before ,I have been out of the Marine Corps for a year now and got all Nasty fat and Happy.Oh been to Iraq twice so I am taking it easy now in 2nd Civ Div Camp Couch

ah yes the summer time iraqi plague. i had the infamous 48 hour im gonna die pissing out my @$$ iraqi $hits. wanna talk about feeling horrible. only thing you can do is ride it out. ive never eaten the local food and still got it. quick tip dont eat anything not sealed in a package that comes from that country and even then be careful.
