I have 7 jack stands, and fortunately none of them are those. I know that's an odd number, one got "borrowed." Working under a car on jackstands still kinds of freaks me out, even after almost 30 years. Does anyone else get that feeling?

If the front is on ramps, I still have stands under the kmember (depending on what I’m doing)
And depending on room, usually put one under center of diff along with those under the axle tubes.
As I’ve gotten older, safety is more of a concern for sure, and I always have “extra” under there in case something fails.

Yes but I have an angry exhaust system that will attack when I'm not looking.

That's actually not a bad way too look at it. Just throw extra stands under there in case.

The jack stands at Wally World yesterday look suspiciously like the second recalled HFT stands. The metal is thin and I did not like the welds.
I should have bought a second pair of stands when I was with Autoworks. They are heavy enough to feel fairly safe when under a car.

That was a consideration when building our garage. The budget just didn't stretch that far. But I have a lot of attic space for stuff.

I hate being under any car...even on a lift. I just don't trust the mechanisms holding the vehicle up even if I know the design is robust. I dread pulling a trans because of how "deep" under a car I have to go.

I have 8 jackstands that i trust. When i pull a trans, most of them are under the car, along with a jack, and maybe a pair of tires. It's almost like an obstacle course under the car with all the things positioned to "catch" the vehicle. Have never had a car slip, but it still freaks me out.
