HARD CLUTCH!!!

I dont know when or how but the plate that covers a cable under the transmission some how came off. Now I dont know if this caused it but when I press my clutch its hard! A friend of mine said it could be a bent shift fork?? If I press my clutch all the way in and let it snap back it will get soft again for about 10 pressings then gradually gets hard again. Whats causing this???

The shaft that the throw out bearing rides on is probably dirty. The missing cover is not helping. Even with the cover on, it's gets all gunked up.

I went down there and looked cause thats what I thought to but its not dirty or anything.
