Occasionally when I go to start my car it will turn over and over and then finally start as if it wasnt getting fuel right away. It happens maybe once out of every 15 starts. Anyone else experience this and know what it is?

had the same prob and took it in uder warranty. they said my IAC valve was sticking and replaced it. when i got it out it did it again and i unhooked the little plug on the valve and blew in it to clean it out and it worked just fine. might try that. by the way my car is a 02 if that helps.

I have a similar problem but only seems to happen after I've been driving and cut the car off for a very short amount of time. The car is still warm and it takes 2-3 seconds of turning over to start. When it does start it sorta sputters for a second. I'm unsure if this has to do with my timming adjustments made in my EFI reflash or if its fuel related.

any ideas?

yea its probably your timing. you should try and blow in your iac valve also. could be both.

I had the same problem as well as a few other guys on this board. There is a thread on this somewhere that is a few pages long you could look at. I went through 3 IAC, a throttle body, new tubes from my CAI, two stock EEC reflashes, and nothing fixed mine. Mine got so bad that it was doing it every am or whenever the car sat for 5+ hours. Sometimes it got to where it took 2 or 3 turns for it to even kick over. I went to 3 different ford dealers to no avail. I got fed up and said whatever with it, got some gears and a chip installed. I also had my final apt at the 3rd dealer 2 days after my gear install. He scanned and found a computer error code. I took it back to the shop and thought maybe I got a bad chip. We swapped chips, took it back, no code, and I went home. Next am the car started up perfectly. I havent had a problem with it since and this has been over 8 months ago. IMO there is something wacky with our EEC from the factory. Ford just hasnt figured out a fix yet. They might have by now though. If messing with your IAC doesnt help it may be a dealer issue.
Best of luck
