Hard to start when hot

Hard start when car is hot. Does anyone have this problem?

Turn's over fine but takes longer to start. Just looking for some info

I would probably pull codes and check FP when the car is hot. Your pump might be getting a little weak.

also TFI or PIP could be bad, which go like to fail with heat.

had that problem w/ my old jeep. turned out is was the crank sensor... just throwing it out there.

Thanks will test fuel pressure. What is TFI and PIP?
How do I get codes without a scan tool?

TFI = Thick Film Ignition. The ignition module on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

PIP = Profile Ignition Pick-up. It's the magnetic device inside the dizzy that relates piston displacement to the computer.

Someone on here will chime in with a link for pulling codes (or do a search). My ISP is really really slow right now or I would pull a link up.

Also .... PIP is A.K.A. "Hall Effect Sensor".

If fuel pressure is not the problem, check the plugs/wires/cap/rotor. Then start in on the pip/TFI.

There are some writeups here on how to test both the PIP and TFI.
