So a 88.8'' or 89'' belt is needed?

Depends on what pulleys you are running and what brand of belt you can get in your area. I bought belts from Oreilly's, AutoZone, PepBoys.... then went back to Oreilly's to get the size I posted.

89.5 fit my car snuggly, but a couple of days later would stretch and start knocking as the tensioner bottomed out. What happens is, when you bypass the smog pulley, you have less "freedom" with the tensioner. So you have to get the belt pretty darn close on length. Some guys don't run the alternator pulley, and each brand is different in size just a bit. That's the reason you see different people saying different sizes of belts when you search about it. Basically we can give you a "rough estimate" but you'll most likely have to do a bit of testing to get it right.

Cool, thanks. It was pretty tough to cut. We used a sawzall, but didn't have the "best" type of blade. It was slow going. Plus we had to get like 6 angles on it. The cast braces would get in the way for the tip of the blade. Talk about kick your teeth out of your head when you hit the tip on one of those.

Once we could break the piece off, I used a grinder and file to finish smoothing it out. The grinder wouldn't "grind" the aluminum, but it would "cut" across nicely. When trying to grind, it would fill the grind stone up.

I tried to clean it up, but was in a hurry. I'm sure the finish I have won't last more than a year. I plan to get it powder coated later, but for now... I used Cast Aluminum Engine Paint, and Clear Engine Paint. I think it turned out okay for the rush job.

My new alternator just arrived. Can't wait to mount it up, it's purty. Powder Coated Black. Should match the Black Trickflow Intake and Valve covers nicely.

Are you saying pics because I actually posted them above? Or are you demanding pics and failed to realize you need to scroll up?

BTW - thanks to Hissin's recommendation, I just received my new 160amp alternator to go on said bracket. It looks sweet in black powder coat.

I'll be adding ADDITIONAL pics soon.
