Has anyone else had an issue with the Steeda Triax shifter?

I was going to sell the shifter for $100 (cost me $175 IIRC) but now I remember when I first bought it, it had a rattle in it that I couldn't seem to get out.

Rick from RNH Performance got it to stop but I dont want to sell it to have someone be dissatisfied. Has anyone had this happen and if so, do you remember what caused it? I found one other person on line that had this happen but they didnt say why. If I can identify why then I might feel ok selling it.

never had that problem, although with a UPR shift knob it was noisy and with stock and now MGW it does not make noise either. But that was the shift knob and not the shifter.

i put one in my 95 and it started to rattle real bad....i havent figured it out yet....if anyone knows how to stop it let us know!

Did you have the shifter bushing in place?

That's a good question Hissin.. I am not sure where that would be..on the bottom somewhere? I'll get Rick to check when I pull the trans.

Yep. When you unbolt the shifter, the bushing goes between the shift-lever ball and the receiver that the ball slides into in the top of the trans. The cup usually gets stuck in the receiver but sometimes it comes out and isn't replaced.

p.s. If that is the issue, why doesn't the stock shifter need that?

The stock shifter does use it.
