Has anyone ever been tempted? be honest....

Well, I've never really been tempted by a Chevy. But I used to valet park cars recently and I've driven quite a few VERY nice cars. I was ALMOST tempted by a ZO6 vette I drove one time though. I wouldn't buy one but I give them their props. Camaros just don't get me going. I've seen some really fast ones, and I give them their props, but I'd still never buy one. I bleed Ford blue. I like being the underdog. I love the look on their faces when you beat the supposed "big dog". :D :rlaugh:

I looked for ANY sporty vehicle at the time. I had given up a lot in my marriage, sold my truck and was driving a FESTIVA at the time. I couldn't afford the insurance on a z28... I didn't like how they rode, and I didn't like the big arse nose on them. The speed was nice, but I really liked the 94-95 stangs. Happily I found one I could afford.

The day my ex signed my Festiva over, I went and picked up my stang. Should have seen the look on her face. I picked up my kid in the Festiva like always, then dropped her off in the stang. It was SOOOO FUN! My daughter could talk a little and kept telling her about daddy's "horsey car". :D

170,000 miles later and still kicking. Well, other than the shelled out rear end. Ugh.

My Mom and Dad are DIEHARD chevy fans... but dad would buy my stang from me in a "heartbeat" if I decided to sell it. :rlaugh:

im a true mustang fan ,,and always will be,,but if i could find a good deal on a newer model Z-28 or SS,,,my mustang would be gone,,,its hard to be a stock LS-1,,much less a modded one,,sorry fellow mustangers,,,but for the money we would spend modded our stangs we could of put bought a camaro, put on an intake and nitrous and have over 450hp,,,it would take alot of money to 450plus hp a mustang,,,i had the chance this past weekend to buy a 99 SS Camaro for $12,500,,,but i didnt have the cash to get it,,i wanted to trade my 95 GT,,but i wouldnt have gottin anything out of it,,and ive spent close to $10K on it including cost to buy,,and its still isnt much faster than it was stock. So to answer the question yes i would very much consider gettin a camaro or trans-am

I don't have camaro or firebird lust, but I have 5.7 lust.

I live in california, so my desires have been thwarted so far. If I want a smog legal 351, I have to find a cobra R drivetrain for a legal swap. If you add up all of the cost of a Cobra R drivetrain, hood and all of the little bits, it gets pretty expensive.

After looking at the smog laws again, I realized it would be cheaper to do an emission legal ls1 swap. That's messed up.

I know I can make a 351 pass any smog test that they throw at me, but it will always be illegal unless I have cobra R part numbers, or I wait untill the car is 30 years old and emmissions exempt.

Only tempted a little. I really don't like it inside of a Camaro or Firebird, just doesn't fit me. However, the first time I sat in a Mustang, it fit. Everything felt right.

Now, if they had that drivetrain in a better platform.....I don't know.

Thing is, the only thing the Camaro has on a Mustang is horsepower. In every other way that matters to me, I like my Mustang a lot more. Even if I wasn't faster, straight line speed would never be enough to make me switch.

About 10 years ago I bought a 84' Z-28. Previous to that I had a 85' GT. The GT would smoke the Z-28, but, the Z-had T-tops (chicks loved it). I would never give up loving Stangs or Ford in general i think. Never really took a liking to the newer Chevy's. My wife on the other hand is a big Chevy fan but loves driving my Stang. Slowly but surely she will come over to my side and "join the force". Her family are die hard Chevy fans. Every car I buy is a Ford and I pass up some really good deals on Chevy's just to buy Fords because of my Wifes Family. Kind of twisted i guess.

I've ridden in both an ls1 comaro, and firebird...both would irritate me to own with their crappy interrior quality, and expense of aftermarket parts. I was looking for one before I bought my Cobra though...Glad it worked out the way it did. My frown was turned upside down the other day though when a WS6 owned me like I was standing still.

I don't liked camaro/firebird and any GM cars but I recpect performance ,
Anyway last summer I test drove one 00 Trans Am 6 speed (my friend wonna buy some fast car so he can beat me) and I dont like that car , too tight(i'm 6'6) no space left/right and front/rear :notnice:

I had a firebird formula and a trans am (pre ls1), and had fun beating on mustangs including the '98+. My friends and I were die hard f-body fans and I hated stangs. Then one day I was smashed by a Tahoe and could only afford an sn-95. The first drive in mine was a plesant surprise, lack of power not withstanding. As Dave said above, everything else is better. New camaros are ugly, but I'd take a ws6 if I could keep my GT. Definitely a mustang fan now, although a '69 SS396 is somewhere in the future!

Don't get me wrong, I do have a ceretain affinity for them, as my driveway holds my 95 GT and my g/f's 95 Z28....but God, they're $$$ and a PITA to work on!

Now tempted away, a Porsche might do it. I still miss my 928 :(

When I was looking for my first car, I almost bought a 1997 all black z28 w/6sp and t-tops. I wanted that car more than any thing. But then we called the call the insurance. They just laughed at me. So my parents bought me a 2001 grand am. I hated that thing. Finally it blew it engine so I bought my 94' and never looked back.
